In 1921 the historic mill of Coccolia (in the Italian province of Ravenna), dating back to 1445, became the property of the Spadoni family. The mill evolved over three Spadoni generations – Livio first, then Libero and Leonardo today – implementing over time a diversification policy and interpreting new food styles and the needs of modern consumers.

Today, we are the point of reference in the market of special flours and mixes for domestic and professional use (capturing over 32% of the Italian retail share); our retail brand is found in 86% of Italian stores. We have our own production facilities at 14 locations, operated by a workforce of more than 180 and supported by a network of commercial agents and distributors. In addition to our production sites, we rely on our 90+ hectare Mora Romagnola pig breeding farm, located at Palazzo di Zattaglia di Brisighella (RA) estate, and on Casa Spadoni restaurants disseminated across the Emilia-Romagna region. Molino Spadoni exports to over 30 foreign countries, mainly to France, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Israel, Australia, Japan and the United States.

The Group has invested heavily in establishing its current strong presence not only in the organic and gluten-free sector through its range of flours, mixes and ambient bakery products but also in frozen bakery products and delicatessen items through its cheeses and Mora Romagnola fresh meats and charcuterie, all under the Officine Gastronomiche Spadoni brand. We have also been producing a line of craft beers in our own brewery and Leonardo Spadoni brand spirits and vinegars by collecting ancient recipes with authentic flavors and keeping the local culinary tradition alive.

With a consolidated turnover of over €51 million, Molino Spadoni remains old-world at heart while also being a cutting-edge business which pays particular attention to contemporary needs and consumers’ taste and passion for authenticity in everything.
