Mix to prepare Sponge cakes
FRESH INGREDIENTS TO ADD:
- 5 medium eggs (around 55 g x 5)
- 20 ml water
For best results, we advise making sure that all the ingredients are at room temperature.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: around 40-50 minutes at 180°C
Break the eggs (if you prefer, into a food processor), add the water, and mix for around a minute. Dust the mix to prepare Sponge Cake and carefully beat for about 6 minutes. Try to get an homogeneous mix and be careful that it does not lose its soft stiffness. Then grease and flour a round springform cake tin (preferably 24/26 cm in diameter), pour the mixture into the centre of the tin, and level it with a spoon. Bake at 180°C for 40-45 minutes. Do not open the oven door until the end of the cooking time. Once the time has elapsed and to check that the sponge cake is ready, pierce it with a toothpick and if it comes out clean and dry, the cake is done. Let the sponge cake cool down. Fill it with creams and whipped cream or serve with a sprinkling of icing sugar.
